About Fanlistings

A fanlisting is a place where fans can show their support for something, in this case, a character. Each fan who joins is added to a list representing all of the fans of that particular thing. Fans are listed by name and country. E-mail addresses and websites are also listed for each fan (unless the fan does not want their e-mail listed or does not have a website). Fanlistings are a great way to show support and meet other fans, so be sure to join!

About Hio Shizuka

Hio Shizuka is this first bas guy (well, girl) in the series Vampire Knight. She is a rebelious Pure Blood vampire, who even though being a Pure Blood, lives in the shadows of the vampire world and is regarded as troublesome. Several years before the beginning of Vampire Knight, Shizuka attacked the Hunter family the Kiryuu's in retribution for killing her human lover who was placed on the execution list. During this attack, Shizuka gave Zero the fateful bite which later transformed him into a vampire. During the VK story, Shizuka takes possession of Maria Kurenai, a young vampire, and enrolls in the academy attended by her faithful servent Ichiru.

Personal Thoughts

Personally I think Shizuka is a rather misunderstood character. The entire story surrounding her is fully of sorrow and she is one of the few characters who we see cry. She is an outcast amoung her own kind despite being a rare member of the highest rank of vampire. Shizuka become regarded as dangarous and insane are she fell in love with a human and then murdered the hunters who were sent to execute him. The fact that she fell in love with someone forbidden, had the person she loved die, and then suffered a life in shadows before her own death really makes me feel sorry for her character. I don't think her character was really insane, but was labelled as so by the vampire council because she fell in love with a human.
